Hi,
if special characters such as German umlauts appear in the link to the article, Hubzilla generates a new URL every time the article text is changed. For example, this link
plus plus plus percent plus plus plus c3 plus plus plus percent plus plus plus bcble-sache-die-sonderzeichen
was created from the original link
üble-sache-die-sonderzeichen
after several changes. Hubzilla Version 7.2.2.
The tricky thing is that after saving the changed article, the one from the Bug #1687,
the changed article is no longer visible to the editor. Hubzilla may save the changed article with a NEW extended URL, but this new URL is not known to the user. With the current behaviour, only the old, unchanged version of the article is displayed to the editor after clicking on "Edit". If the change contains a longer text, it is quite time consuming and frustrating for the user.
Workaround: tested with Chromium-rowser, Version 104.0.5112.79 (Offizieller Build) snap (64-Bit).
In the Chromium browser, the version of the text with changes is displayed in the edit form when one clicks on the "Back" button in the browser. This is also an opportunity to clean up the broken URL from special characters.
I have captured the bug here
